Greenwich Park, England

Painted Hall | Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich

I didn't make it a point to frivolously take plenty of photographs in greenwich since I didn't really see a purpose in doing so at that point of time and also probably due to my obsession of playing with Emma. Hehe.

If you're in London or heading there, do make it a point to go to Greenwich located slightly at the outskirts of London. An afternoon's worth of time would be most certainly sufficient! Do visit Greenwich Park, an enormous and well-known park there. You'll probably see a familiar sight of people laying on the grass field but this time, people of a different race heh! Singaporeans will relate. Also, many squirrels and annoying pigeons looking for homo sapiens in hopes to grab an easy bite. Despite it being a tourist attraction there, there's many quiet places in the park to stroll along and it's just really peaceful and pleasant to enjoy the weather there.

And for those art enthusiast, you should probably visit Greenwich before heading to museums or Paris. There's really really gorgeous looking pieces here but there isn't really that many! The Painted Hall in  Old Royal Naval College is certainly captivating and alluring to look at. I'm not entirely sure about the periods of art pieces but it does look romanticised in some sense! Truly a darling work of art. If only Singapore had such deep-seated art work and architecture. Aw.

First Night in London

King's Cross and Piccadilly Square

Didn't make it a point to take many pictures since it was quite a hectic manoeuvre from Edinburgh to London with the hustle and bustle of the crowd. I didn't manage to take a photo with platform 3/4 because my train was at the other terminal, ah well!

I really love broadways but I only managed to catch Les Miserables which was really a last minute thing. Despite the restricted view due to the seat I got, I really enjoyed the whole show. Definitely gonna go watch it again with a better view! If you're planning to watch a broadway, book the tix way way early and you get the best seats and the cheapest price, if not you gonna get them from last minute shops that sell tix that are pretty pricey in my opinion. Also, be sure to know the full story of the broadway before watching else it's get pretty confusing to follow because of the difference between the language usage of the past, and since everything is sung, it can be able hard to follow. Hehe.

The hotel I stayed in was Princess Hotel which was really convenient! A bed and breakfast. It was close to Underground (London's MRT) and easily accessible to amenities. The catch is that it is really small with no lifts and limited movement space. No air conditioning but with the weather in London, you don't exactly need aircon heh! It would be really cozy for one person's stay but with two people, it's already quite a squeeze (unless you opt for a family room). Yea la, but I was only there for two nights so that's all!

Emma

Sweet Little Emma

"Emma wants to walk!" Squeals little Emma from a third person's perspective. This adorable little jaunty girl just can't get enough of running around, getting chased by and greeting every single person she sees on the street - too cute! #vscocam ps. She's not some random girl I picked up to get a photo with on the street lol.

Aw, I miss Emma.

Edinburgh: Arthur's Seat

The hills are alive with the sound of music~

Yea, my eyes are closed 90% of the time. ~_~

I'm not exactly sure why this place is called Arthur's Seat but it's probably because the extinct crater looked like a seat that could nicely fit a giant butt. This has got to be one of my favouritest spots in the whole of my UK trip. It isn't exactly a tourist attraction nor a highly recognised place but I do think this is one of the most convenient dating spots to head to if you're living/travelling in Edinburgh! It's walkable distance to the city, it's not crowded, it is really clean and it's soo damn beautiful!

The people I met here are friendly and they love to bring their dogs to roam all about the plains of Arthur's Seat. And their dogs so so so cute and loveable. Awww, I would gladly have a picnic here the whole day if I could. Definitely a place I would go again if I were to head to Edinburgh once more.  I loooove! Do Abigail a favour by going on a date here if you are in Edinburgh/scotland with your significant other.

The Outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland

Castles and Hills

Went on a day tour to the outskirts of Edinburgh (Scotland) and I thoroughly enjoyed much of its fresh air, greenery and breathtaking views. Also, as a Singaporean, it's pretty amazing to see real living cattle grazing on grass looking as cute as ever (in spite of that, I'll still gladly eat steaks, beef burgers and lamp chops).

I visited Stirling castle, which was really indeed like a normal castle you'll see out of the many numerous historical landmarks Scotland and really, the whole of UK there is. I walked around and did all sorts of touristy nonsense. I'm not really a fan of taking every single thing I see everywhere I go thus less picture, sowi. Hee. It is almost mandatory to visit at least one castle when you're in the UK, it's definitely eye opening and interesting to hear the stories that once lived within the walls of these castles. This is me speaking as a person whom never loved studying history, really.

Plus, I have a new found love of celtic music despite the bagpipes being played. There's just this sense of peacefulness and aura in their songs which makes it sound so alluring to listen to. I don't know, maybe I'm just easily captivated :)

The local day-tour I went on was Heart of Scotland where your tour guides are local and probably more audible than those Chinese tour guides, which I preferably do not like. I personally liked this tour because of the small group it takes in (15 people) and my tour guide was really animated and amusing. So I recommend going on this their tours if you're heading to scotland :) Teehee.

Did you know that the word "loch" is actually "lake"?

I sound so unentertaining. Oh wells, I'm blogging from at night so hope you don't mind my mundane tone in my writing heh!

Edinburgh: its old and new town

Edinburgh has to be one of my favourite cities where its old and new town is being parted by a bridge. Its new town isn't exactly that 'new' , especially not in Singapore's context where slight over 45 years of history even can't substantiate the historical value of Edinburgh's new town. There's so much history here, in fact, almost everywhere in Europe there's some historical landmark or some sort. It's crazy! So what I may say is that you history students should be glad we have such recent history; there's so much less to study but on the hindsight, it wouldn't be so interesting or intriguing.

These pictures really do no justice to its architectural phenomena. Every alley there's something to learn, there's a hill, a castle to visit - all within this city. So many dateable places to bring your lover to breathe in the cool dry air and embrace in each other when the cool air blows. Potential overseas trip here recommended. Hehe.

Oh yes, not to forget. MALLARDS. So many in Europe. Did you know that the brown one is a female and the green-headed one is the male. ZOMG! I found that out on 9gag. Hahahah.

White Plate Gallery: Edinburgh

If you aren't a fan of seafood, you'll probably find other delectable treats in Edinburgh just around the corner. But really, the seafood here is OMGBBQ. Sorry that's all I have to say. Really.

One picture is not enough. Here's another.
Oysters are my all time favourite. Slurp!
